Growing up in Melbourne, he was surrounded by some of the most dynamic street art in the world. Laneways like Hosier Lane became his early classrooms, where color, rebellion, and storytelling covered every surface.
As a teenager, Matthew studied the craft by watching and later working alongside some of Australia’s most respected street artists. From them, he learned that muralism is as much about discipline as expression — understanding scale, mastering spray technique, reading a wall’s texture, and adapting to weather, height, and public space.
Large-scale work demands physical endurance and creative clarity. Every line must hold its own from a distance. Every colour choice must cut through urban noise. For Matthew, the challenge is part of the thrill — transforming blank concrete into something alive and communal.
Today, his murals reflect both his Melbourne roots and years of technical refinement. Bold compositions, layered textures, and a deep respect for street culture define his approach. What began as fascination in the laneways has evolved into a practice grounded in mentorship, craft, and a belief that art belongs to everyone who walks past it.
